The students were excited to greet the third Music Immersion instrument family, the woodwinds!
First up was the french horn. Although it is in the brass family, its mellow sound blends perfectly with the woodwind instruments.
We learned new things about the french horn.
The flute used to be made of wood.
Now the flute is made of metal.
The clarinet is a single reed instrument. It can play very high or very low.
The oboe and bassoon are double reed instruments. The oboe sound is sad and sweet.
This is how big the bassoon is today.
This is how big it used to be.
Then we listened to how the bassoon sounds.
At the end of the performance, students had a chance to ask questions.
